Why PECB Certification

Every ISO course at Horus Academy leads to a certification from PECB. This page explains who PECB is, what a PECB certificate means, and how Horus Academy fits in.

Who PECB is

PECB is a certification body for persons. It provides education and certification under ISO/IEC 17024 across a wide range of disciplines, including information security, AI management, business continuity, risk, privacy and quality. PECB is accredited by a number of accreditation bodies, including the International Accreditation Service (IAS) and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), for various certification schemes.

What Horus Academy does, and what PECB does

  • Horus Academy is a PECB Authorized Silver Partner. We deliver the official PECB training and prepare you for the exam. You can verify our listing in the PECB partner directory.
  • PECB sets and marks the exam, reviews your application and issues your certificate. Horus Academy does not issue certificates and does not decide exam results.

What you get with a PECB course

  • The official PECB course materials.
  • The certification and examination fees, which are included in the course price.
  • One complimentary exam retake within 12 months of your first attempt if you do not pass.
  • A course completion record with CPD credits: 14 for Foundation courses and 31 for Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor courses.

From exam to credential

Passing the exam is the first step. You then apply to PECB for the credential that matches your experience. For Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer courses, the credential levels depend on your professional experience and you sign the PECB Code of Ethics. The requirements for each level are listed on every course page.

Which course level to choose

  • Foundation: the concepts and requirements of a standard, for people new to it.
  • Lead Implementer: how to plan, implement and manage a management system.
  • Lead Auditor: how to plan, conduct and report audits of a management system.
