Terms and Conditions
Effective date: October 2, 2026
These terms apply when you use horus.academy or buy a course, exam voucher or other product from Horus Academy. Horus Academy is the training brand of Horus Consultancy Inc., a company based in British Columbia, Canada (“Horus Academy”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
1. What we provide
We sell certification training in four formats:
- Self-study: official course materials you work through on your own.
- E-learning: recorded lessons and materials you follow online at your own pace.
- Hybrid: the self-paced course plus one day of one-to-one live coaching with the instructor, which can be split into a half day before you start studying and a half day before your exam.
- Live courses: scheduled sessions led by an instructor, delivered online.
Most courses include an exam voucher for the related certification exam. Each course page states what is included. We also sell exam vouchers on their own.
Exams and certificates are provided by independent certification bodies, including PECB and PeopleCert. We are an authorized training partner of these bodies. We are not the certification body, and we do not decide exam results or issue certificates.
2. Your account
You need an account to buy a course. You agree to:
- give accurate information, including your full legal name as it should appear on your certificate;
- keep your password confidential;
- tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.
You are responsible for activity under your account. An account is for one person and may not be shared.
3. Orders and payment
- Prices are set in Canadian dollars (CAD) and shown with the CA$ sign. For visitors in other countries, the site automatically converts prices to the local currency using current exchange rates. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.
- Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send your order confirmation.
- Payment is taken in full at checkout through our payment providers. We do not store your card details.
- We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a price was listed in error or we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund it in full.
- Promotional prices and discount codes apply only during the stated period and cannot be combined unless we say so.
4. Course access and delivery
- Self-study and e-learning: we send access details by email once your payment is confirmed and your course has been assigned. Access to materials and exam vouchers is valid for 12 months from the date of issue unless the course page states otherwise.
- Live courses: we send joining instructions before the start date. You are responsible for a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and attending at the scheduled times.
- Some materials are delivered through the certification body’s own platform, which has its own terms of use.
5. Changes to live courses
We may change the instructor, schedule or delivery platform of a live course, or cancel a session that does not reach the minimum number of participants. If we cancel or move a session and the new date does not suit you, you may choose a transfer to another date or a full refund. We are not responsible for other costs you incur, such as time booked off work.
6. Exams and certification
- Exams are scheduled, delivered and marked by the certification body, under its own rules, identity checks and candidate agreement.
- We do not guarantee that you will pass an exam, obtain a certification, or achieve any career or employment result.
- Retake entitlements are set by the certification body and described on each course page. For PECB courses, one complimentary retake is available within 12 months of the first attempt.
- Certification may require you to meet further conditions set by the certification body, such as professional experience, application fees or annual maintenance fees. These are separate from the course price.
- Exam vouchers expire on the date stated when they are issued. Expired vouchers cannot be extended or refunded.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations, transfers and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Course materials and intellectual property
Course materials belong to us or to the certification bodies and other licensors. When you buy a course, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the materials for your own learning.
You may not:
- share your login, access codes or exam vouchers with anyone else;
- copy, record, distribute, resell or publish course materials, exam questions or live sessions;
- use the materials to deliver training to others.
ITIL® is a registered trade mark of the PeopleCert group. PECB and other names and logos on this site belong to their owners.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with its operation, using automated tools to copy content, or posting unlawful, abusive or misleading content in comments or reviews. In live sessions, you agree to treat instructors and other participants with respect.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. If we close your account for a serious breach, you are not entitled to a refund.
10. Company and group bookings
If you buy on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these terms. You may substitute one participant for another by emailing us, as long as the course has not yet been assigned to the original participant on the certification body’s portal.
11. Disclaimers
We provide the site and courses with reasonable care and skill. Course content is for training purposes. It is not legal, compliance, audit or other professional advice for your organization’s specific situation.
We do not promise that the site will be available without interruption or free of errors. Except as stated in these terms, and to the extent the law allows, we give no other warranties.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- our total liability to you for any claim relating to a course or order is limited to the amount you paid for that course or order;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, income, business or opportunity.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have under consumer protection law.
13. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as internet or platform outages, illness of an instructor, or actions of a certification body. In these cases we will reschedule or offer a transfer or refund as described in the Refund Policy.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version posted on this page when you place an order applies to that order. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to bring a claim there.
